Throwback: Italy (Spring 2014)

It is almost the end of February, but I feel like there is so much to wait until the spring will come! I literally have no more patience for it, as spring is my favourite season of them all. Today there were about 10 ºC and I felt so relieved to be able to finally let my winter jacket home that I smiled all day and enjoyed the beautiful sun. I even took my chic sunglasses with me (yes, those that I have worn in the Valentine's Day Outfit post).

So, as the feeling of nostalgia started to have an impact on me, I began to search for the photos from the trip to Italy I went to one year ago, at the beginning of March. I went with many people from my high school and with our French teachers,  in order to take part in a drama contest, where we have presented a play. It was such an amazing experience, as we visited Rome and we went to beautiful places like The Amalfi Coast and Pompeii. We did a lot of shopping, also, and I'm in love with everything that I've bought then. That is actually the moment when I found out about this amazing shop called Brandy Melville, which looks like it is made just for me! It is full of nice, simple and stylish clothes. What a pity we don't have it in Romania. :( Also, we had a lof of fun and got on really well with each other. We took many (lots!) of photos and I even vlogged the whole experience.

Here are some photos that were so hard for me to select (from 1500 photos). I liked all of them too much to decide to a certain picture, but in the end I have managed it. I'll try to add captions to present you the surroundings & stuff. Enjoy!

In the front of our hotel, in Sorrento. This was our view. Wonderful!
Inside the Basilica of St. Peter, Vatican.
The Amalfi Coast seen through the coach window.
Me being really enthusiastic about seeing the sea.
Myself and the girls.
Still on the Amalfi Coast, I love the length and the look of my hair in that period.
Wind in my hair, don't care.
Myself on stage, being a little kid. Here I was playing with "my mum"'s make-up products.

I really liked my make-up this day, even though you can't really see it.
Bare feet and cold sea.
Me and Sinziana, I absolutely adore this photograph.
Finally, I can say that Italy makes you more romantic. If you're lucky enough, you can even fall in love.

This being said, here is the vlog! We had a lot of fun filming it and I am very happy with the results.

It's nice to have your memories stored somewhere else than in your head.

So, I know this is not Thursday, to have like an excuse for the whole throwback thing (#tbt), but at least I hope you enjoyed seeing these photos and also watching the video. :) These are beautiful memories for me and I would like to keep them forever. In my heart, on paper and also virtually, on the blog. I am kind of sad that I'm not going this year, too, but I wish a lot of fun times to my friends who are going. :) Leave me a comment and let me know what your thoughts are!

Take care!

Valentine's Day Outfit

There comes this time of the year, in the middle of February, when all the flower shops have the best sales and the chocolate shops are full of people looking for the most romantic and delicious sweets to buy for their beloved one. You guessed it right, I'm talking about Valentine's Day.

Whether you have a date on this romantic day or you are just spending the time by yourself/with your friends, it's a good opportunity to pay a little more attention to yourself. You may want to arrange your hair, do your make-up, put some nice clothes on and be ready to have a beautiful day. V Day is not only for the ones in love, but also for the ones who are willing to share love to the people around them. Of course you do not need a special day to do this, but let's face it: most of the time we forget about life's little pleasures, and giving and receiving love is one of them, no matter if it is from your friends, from your boyfriend/girlfriend or from your grandma. So let's share love!

♥

Now I'm just going to show you my Valentine's Outfit, which I'm so glad I could wear today.
Thanks God for the good weather. And for friends who can make you photos. Haha.

Items:
Blouse - Brandy Melville (I absolutely love this shop, found it in Italy one year ago)
Skirt - Zara, TRF Collection (not disappointing me since 2010)
Gloves - H&M (bought them in a hurry a couple of days ago because my hands were freezing)
Sunglasses - Stradivarius (one of the few models that suit me well, they are my fav)

Leave a comment below and tell me what you think!
Lots of love, T.

♥

P.S.: Photos taken at the National Museum of Contemporary Art from Bucharest. You should really visit this place, is purely awesome. Maybe I'm going to write about it soon.

Pamper Evening

I'm sure you all have those days when you just come so fricking tired from school, highschool or work and all you want to do is to lay down and have a little bit of "relax-time". I had one of these kind of days two days ago, and, with the urge of my day-by-day quote book, which said to "Soak in a hot bath", I've decided to have a pamper evening. Not just because I needed to calm down, but also because hot baths are pure Heaven when it comes to being able to free your mind from all the bullshit you accumulate during the day. Also, having a long hot bath is certainly a feel-good treat and it gives you a luxurious feeling of sheer pleasure.

Steps for having a pamper evening
(Enhace the calming experience!)

1. Buy foam bath and some pretty candles.
2.  Prepare your bath: turn on the water and add the foam bath.
3. Lighten the candles to improve the atmosphere.
4. Turn off the light and announce your parents that you make a
spiritual ritual. (this is optional)
5. Take something to read or watch, e.g. a fashion magazine, a book or something on your e-book, some videos on your iPad and so on. I chose to scroll through architecture instagrams, because this has become one of my greatest and newest passions.
6. Finally, soak in the wonderful bath!
Take your time and stay as long as you wish, it's your moment.

Now, I want to share with you a beautiful passage from the book I am currently reading, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. It is about hot baths and I find it so relatable and true!

"There must be quite a few things a hot bath won’t cure, but I don’t know many of them. Whenever I’m sad I’m going to die, or so nervous I can’t sleep, or in love with somebody I won’t be seeing for a week, I slump down just so far and then I say : “I’ll go take a hot bath.”
I meditate in the bath. The water needs to be very hot, so hot you can barely stand putting your foot in it. Then you lower yourself, inch by inch, till the water’s up to your neck.
[...]
I never feel so much myself as when I’m in a hot bath."

Take care!

Spa & Gym Day

Good morning, sweethearts!

I had a granny-time weekend, so that's the reason why I haven't posted until now. To my defence, I have to say that I had a really relaxing, internet free weekend. I've finally managed to fall asleep at 10 p.m. and it feels great! I'm really mad at myself when I stay too late at night so the last evenings made me really zippy and fresh. Yay for me!

So, as you can see, I've wanted this holiday to be as relaxing as it can be, because I honestly needed some good quality time for myself, after the first semester of school has come to an end. Consequently, a couple of days ago I had the chance to go to this awesome place called Stejarii Country Club. It consists in a variety of facilities, from gym to spa. Firstly, I went to the gym and to kickboxing, which made me so exhausted. I still have muscle fever from that class, but I've enjoyed it. I usually like cardio stuff, much more than pilates or things like that. After that I played a little bit of squash and then I swam in a big pool, with no one around! Finally I went to the beautiful spa and enjoyed all the different types of jacuzzi. Such a great day!

♥ Pasta Time ♥

Hello, darlings!

Today I have turned myself into a lady chief, with Rami's help. We have decided to have a cooking day and we were willing to cook some Italian food, as you know that I am a massive fan of pasta. This is our second attempt at cooking something, as the first time we made Spanish chicken and it turned out to be pretty good for our first try!

We found this recipe on the internet and I thought it was pretty easy to do and it also looked delicious. No disappointments! We didn't come across any kind of problems - ok, maybe just the arguing over how much pepper or salt should we add - and we managed to make a damn good meal!

Attention, please! For the next period of time, this will be the last photos of me without braces. After I ate this awesome and tasty food, I went straight to the dentist to put on braces. Yes, again. I do feel like old me again tho. Luckly, I have to wear them for only one year and a half.

Here are some photos from our cooking session :)

Our sweet shopping list.
Discovered this really great section full of Italian
sauces & pastas, was such a help for us.
Bought this new types of Cola and Sprite... Guys, the one
on the right is something like a Bio Coca Cola.

The sauce was the key element for our fettucine,
it was filled with all the ingredients!

A little break while waiting for the pasta to cook.
Then we put all the sauce on the pasta and we put it
in the oven for about 15 minutes, while starving
on the other side of the glass.
THE FINAL RESULT!
The added mozzarella on top was the final element, which
made it even more delicious. Yummy, we're ready to eat!

Bon Appetit!

In Love with Hot Chocolate!

What's the best way to celebrate and enjoy cold winter days, besides laying in your bed like a potato? Of course, drinking some good damn hot chocolate! I have to admit it, I'm just in love with it. I feel like you're buying Heaven in a cup. How can you just turn down such an offer?

Me and Rami used to go to a place right in the center of Bucharest, where they had a really creamy and delicious white chocolate, but not long time ago I discovered this awesome place called Acuarela, which seems like it's made for your inner artist, as the title says. It is an old house designed and decorated in an authentic and artistic way, with lots of paint related elements. Besides this, it has the most amazing hot chocolate I've ever tried so far. You can choose between "Good Chocolate" (12 lei) and "Very Good Chocolate" (14 lei), but my forever choice will be the Marshmallow Chocolate, which fits in the second category. It suits exactly with my requirements: creamy and yummy. This is definitely now my number one place to drink hot chocolate.

However, for the non-hot-chocolate lovers (do they even exist?), there is a bunch of types of tea from which you can choose, and I'm pretty sure you will like it. You will be delighted by the calm and relaxing atmosphere, and also by the nice and friendly people who work there. They even have a little shop with handmade things for you to buy, like bags, really cute notebooks, scarves, decorations and many other stuff. Today I bought a set of watercolours, because it reminded me so much of my childhood. Maybe I'll post the paint result later on the blog!

This evening I went there and I have also taken some pictures for you. :)

A really cute heart decoration which
I wished I had bought for my room.
The set of watercolours and the brush,
both in a bag which I can use for
my packed lunch haha!

You should definitely go sometimes to this place, even if
it's just to try something new and out of the box.
